IFC and AEMTL sign memorandum for Women in Business Awards
The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Timor-Leste Businesswomen Association (AEMTL) signed on August 8 a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the launch of Timor-Leste's first Women in Business Awards.
The initiative is being developed in partnership with the Australian Government.
The memorandum of understanding has three main objectives:
1. Celebrate women who have performed well in their careers and who also serve as role models for others.
2. Appreciate and encourage legislative, public and private executive authorities, and civil society for their contribution to gender equality, diversity, good governance and financial inclusion; and
3. Show appreciation for institutional and individual efforts, initiatives and projects that aim to integrate diversity and financial inclusion for women.
