TIMOR-LESTE WOMEN IN BUSINESS AWARDS - RESULTS 2024

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Timor-Leste (AEMTL), in partnership with the governments of Australia and New Zealand, celebrated the success of the winners of the Women in Business Award in Timor-Leste, to honor the achievements of women in business and finance in the country.

The Women Entrepreneur Award in Timor-Leste has three main objectives:

  • To celebrate women who excel in their careers and serve as role models for others;
  • To appreciate and encourage legislative, public, and private sector authorities;
  • To recognize institutional and individual efforts.

This award highlights the importance of promoting female leadership and recognizing their contribution to the private sector in Timor-Leste. It showcases the success and initiatives of women in business and finance, creating models to inspire a new generation of women entrepreneurs and leaders.

The Women Entrepreneur Award Timor-Leste 2024 ceremony was sponsored by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Timor-Leste, Dr. José Ramos Horta.

"The participation of women in business is not only a matter of justice but also essential for the economic and social development of our country," said the President of the Republic of Timor-Leste, José Ramos Horta, who was also the patron of the award. "This award celebrates the remarkable achievements of Timorese women and serves as a reminder that their economic participation and leadership benefit everyone."
