Strategic Plan
The “Associação Empresarial das Mulheres de Timor-Leste” (AEMTL), is a business-oriented association that represents and defends the interests and aspirations of all Timorese women entrepreneurs and is conscious of the various interests and expectations of its members, as such participation and involvement of both its internal members and external stakeholders remains a core of its programing approach.

AEMTL is determined to drive new trends into private sector dynamics: more ownership to reduce depen dency from public projects, more structured and professional business, be the real productive sector and an effective alternative to public sector job creation and income generation, and in this process explore innovative and creative ways of doing business in Timor-Leste and abroad.

It is based on this awareness that AEMTL initiated a consultative and participatory strategic planning process which involved a desk review of relevant documents, an institutional assessment, interviews to key members and sectorial teams, and a two-day strategic planning workshop held in Dare, Dili on 16 to 18 February 2018.

The results of this consultative process were captured by a TA, engaged by UN Women, in a Discussion Report that later informed the development of this Strategic Plan. It should be acknowledged that these initial steps of development of this plan were not possible without the support from UN Women, one of the first AEMTL partner agency.

This plan presents a road map for a new AEMTL that the association leadership commits to follow over the next four years of their mandate in its pursuit for sustainable excellence as a national voice for women entrepreneurs in Timor-Leste.
